Gay Social Network BigJock.com Launches Free Full-Feature Website
San Jose, CA (PRWeb) November 27, 2006 -- BigJock.com, the most comprehensive free Social Network designed for gay men, has launched its full-feature website. BigJock.com provides gay men a real alternative to mainstream social networks that cater to mass audiences, and fee-based gay dating sites that portray themselves as social networks, but lack many popular features.
BigJock.com is free to join, and all members can utilize each of the site’s features which include blogs, forums, event listings and postings, classified ads, public and moderated groups, photo albums, picture ratings of other members, and gay-interest news headline feeds. Instant messaging, chat rooms and video chat are currently being integrated, and will be available in December.
“The initial feedback from early members has been overwhelming,” BigJock.com founder Richard Rudometkin stated. “In just two weeks, I’ve received notes from members who have tracked down friends from high school; located someone from their platoon in the Gulf War; and another that got a job interview with a member’s company.”
Totally self-funded, BigJock.com generates revenue through advertising and sponsorships from companies and networks that seek to communicate with the highly desirable, yet hard to reach gay demographic.
BigJock has been featured in leading technology blog TechCrunch, and VentureBeat, the Silicon Valley Venture Capital column written by former San Jose Mercury News and Wall Street Journal writer, Matt Marshall.
